Impactpool
Unifying the Talent Experience
At its core, Impactpool exists to make the world a better place by connecting people who want to create impact with mission-driven organizations. The design needed to reflect empathy, trust, and clarity while meeting the expectations of modern, purpose-driven recruitment platforms.
Every pixel, interaction, and transition serves a clear purpose.
Inspired by contemporary ATS and candidate management systems, the goal was to deliver a purposeful, actionable, and scalable product tailored to modern recruitment workflows. As Senior Product Designer, my responsibilities spanned strategic thinking, product vision, and end-to-end UI/UX design.
1. Problem
Impactpool’s platform had evolved organically and grown increasingly complex. Fragmented user experiences, outdated UI patterns, and siloed talent pools created inefficiencies for clients. Several features no longer met the expectations of modern HR teams, and collaboration across hiring teams was limited, slowing down critical recruitment processes..
Key challenges included:
Inconsistent UX across B2B and B2C experiences
Inefficient access to and engagement with talent
Lack of collaborative workflows for hiring teams
High cognitive load and unnecessary friction in everyday tasks
It was essential to streamline the product, focus on core value drivers, and establish a clear, efficient workflow that supported both business and candidate needs.
2. Design Process
I defined and led a results-driven design strategy, aligning user needs with business objectives. Insights from interviews, focus groups, and roundtable sessions helped us map the problem space, identify opportunities, and define clear requirements.
The process was highly collaborative and iterative:
Cross-functional workshops, HMW sessions, and concept explorations
Early and frequent design sharing to build alignment
Continuous user testing to validate decisions
Progressive refinement through wireframes and high-fidelity mockups
A new design system was introduced to unify the product, creating consistency across interfaces while adding structure to both design and development. Design decisions were continuously evaluated against user needs and business goals, with close collaboration with management, C-level stakeholders, and investors.
3. Solution & Results
The redesign delivered a completely new UI and UX, improving navigation, information architecture, scannability, and reducing cognitive load. A refreshed visual identity reinforced clarity, trust, and professionalism while tying together the B2B and B2C sides of the platform.
Key outcomes included:
A consistent, logical, and action-oriented product experience
New collaborative features enabling teams to share profiles, build shortlists, and recruit together
A unified ATS and CMS providing access to a global talent pool of 900,000+ profiles
Fewer steps required to complete core tasks
A modular, scalable design system built for long-term growth
A redesigned onboarding and checkout flow
A transparent and flexible subscription model for organizations of all sizes
Measured impact:
Higher engagement through increased interaction and time on platform
Stronger brand recognition via a cohesive visual language
Higher conversion rates driven by optimized layouts and messaging
Consistent, friction-free experiences across the ecosystem.
3. Impact [TL;DR]
The redesign resulted in a unified, scalable platform that significantly improved Impactpool’s ability to serve HR teams worldwide. Clients can collaborate more effectively, access a global talent pool of 900,000+ candidates, and build long-term trust through a tailored ATS and CRM experience.
The outcome is increased adoption, smoother onboarding, higher client satisfaction, and a reinforced position as a leading recruitment platform within the impact sector.
